For sale: 15-year-old Selle Français gelding
Description
For sale: Gelding born May 2, 2010, sired by Diamant de Semilly out of Kayack by Diableur.
His dam jumped double clear at Fontainebleau in the 4-year-old Young Horse classes and was rated "Very Good." At 5 years old, also at Fontainebleau in the Young Horse classes, she had 4 faults over 3 rounds and was rated "Very Good." ISO 133.
This horse has been with the same family since birth.
Trail riding:
The horse goes on trail rides regularly. He rides through roads and villages, and along the Deûle Canal.
Show jumping:
He has never refused a jump. He has only been ridden by experienced amateurs. He competes in some 4- and 5-year-old Young Horse classes. Between the ages of 5 and 9, the horse was kept in a pasture and was taken out for trail rides on Sundays. At 9, he moved to a private stable to prepare for show jumping competitions. In September 2019, he developed tendonitis (desmittis of the left carpal ligament). In July 2020, he injured his left hind leg. In February 2021, he tested positive for leptospirosis. He was treated with antibiotics and the infection remained clear. In January 2023, he developed sensitivity in the heel of his right foreleg due to hitting a stone. His shoeing was fitted with a leather pad to prevent further injury. In February 2023, the rider had a skiing accident and was unable to ride for several months. In September 2025, the horse underwent surgery for a wound on his neck.
To date, the horse is vaccinated and dewormed. The equine dentist visited in September 2025.
Our son has gone to study in Paris. My job is more demanding. We prefer to put him up for sale at €2900. The goal is to find him a loving new family who has the time to care for him. This horse is strong and gentle. He is not suitable for a very young child. He is not suitable for horse dealers.
