Sweet mare with great dressage potential

It is with a heavy heart that I am selling my sweet mare Kato due to a lack of time.

General:

Kato is a super sweet 11-year-old mare. She has a good foundation with 3 impressive yet pleasant gaits. She is sweet to handle and has no mareish traits, but she is easily nervous and therefore certainly not always the easiest.

She is well-behaved when being groomed and truly enjoys it, and saddling up is no problem at all either. I have never seen her bite or kick purposefully, and she takes the bit easily.

She lunges well and can do so largely on voice commands.

Under saddle, Kato is often enthusiastic and needs a clear and consistent rider. She has a sensitive back and does not tolerate riders who bounce in the saddle. With a height at withers of 1.72+ m, she is also a large horse with plenty of substance, and for all these reasons certainly not suitable for a beginner rider.

However, she is responsive to the aids and very pleasant to ride for a more experienced rider, she goes on the contact easily and already knows some exercises from the higher classes. She has done less in recent years and will therefore need to be picked up again.

I have achieved a few points in the B class with her, but have never ridden competitively with enthusiasm; I do expect that she can go far in dressage with the right rider.

Kato enjoys popping over a small jump, but has no talent for it.

She is also pleasant to ride out in a group, but finds it very exciting on her own. She is used to tractors and lorries and will practically never make an issue of this on familiar ground. She is also familiar with dogs, cats, and small children and thinks all of this is fine. Aeroplanes and birds are no problem either.

She is well-behaved with the farrier, osteopath, physiotherapist, and vet; she needs to be sedated for the dentist. She has never been fully clipped, but does not mind this at the vet or for her mane.

Trailer loading is something she finds very exciting and her behavior varies, and strange surroundings are also very exciting.

She is a real friend to everyone and loves being outside with other horses; she has no stable vices.

Notes:

Kato has a severe overbite and therefore needs to visit the dentist every year. She must be sedated for this, so it is important to find a specialized vet instead of a standard equine dentist. She is not bothered by this otherwise, she can easily take a bit and accepts it well, and she can also eat and graze just fine, she only spills her feed pellets.

Kato also has stringhalt in her left hind leg due to an old trauma, which is different from shivers. You only notice this when picking up her hooves and stepping backwards. Nothing of this can be seen while riding. For this reason, it is important that she can move around a lot and therefore can go outside daily (preferably even 24/7).

New home:

I am looking for a 5-star home for Kato where she can go outside a lot and work is done with her regularly. Due to her nervous character, she is not suitable for a beginner rider. Dealers and riding schools need not apply.

A good sale is more important than a quick one, and I am offering a 3-month trial period. There is also the possibility to lease her full-time for a number of months first (450 euro/month) at her current location.

For the right home, the price is negotiable. Tack can be taken over for an additional price (excluding headcollar and fly mask, these are included)

Pre-purchase exam is allowed at the buyer's expense, keep in mind that she will very likely fail it on her hind leg condition. She has a D-OC and preferent predicate
