Description
# 🐴 SIR ECKLEY – An experienced show jumping pony teacher with a big heart ❤️
Are you looking for a reliable, experienced and characterful pony for your child, one that will build confidence in the saddle and help develop riding skills? Sir Eckley might just be the one.
For many years, Sir Eckley was our daughter's wonderful partner, with whom she experienced many wonderful moments and gained valuable riding experience. As she has now outgrown him, we have decided to find him a new loving home where he can bring the same joy and pass on his experience to another young rider.
### 🐎 Basic information
- Name: Sir Eckley
- Age: 21 years
- Height at withers: 140 cm
- Gender: gelding
- Pedigree: official passport with listed parents
- Suitable for: children from 6 years old, beginner and more advanced riders
- Use: riding teacher, hobby show jumping, recreational riding, hacks
- Location: Gbeľany, Žilina district
- Price: 5,500 € – negotiable upon serious interest
### ❤️ A temperament that is his greatest asset
Sir Eckley is an exceptionally characterful, calm, tolerant and reliable pony with an amazing ability to adapt to his rider.
With a child or a less experienced rider, he is patient, calm and careful. He does not rush and helps his rider gain confidence and trust.
Conversely, when a more confident and experienced rider gets into the saddle, he can be pleasantly forward-going, willing to cooperate and is not lazy.
It is precisely this trait that makes him an excellent teacher for children starting to ride, as well as for young riders who want to further improve.
He is very easy to handle from the ground as well. During routine handling, even small children can lead him, as you can see in the attached video.
### 🏆 Equestrian experience and achievements
Sir Eckley has extensive show jumping experience and great sports results behind him.
- In the past, he completed show jumping competitions at heights of 70–90 cm.
- In 2016, he won 3rd place in the Slovak Jumping Pony Cup.
- In 2022, he completed Christmas hobby competitions in Motešice with our 14-year-old daughter, where together they won 1st place in the 40 cm show jumping and 1st place in the 60 cm show jumping.
And it is precisely this latest achievement that best exemplifies his exceptional qualities.
At that time, our daughter had relatively little riding experience and a riding license for only the first year. These were her very first and at the same time only competitions where she managed to win twice with Sir Eckley.
Subsequently, she no longer competed, but continued to regularly train show jumping with him and go on hacks in nature.
Even today, Sir Eckley is actively ridden, in very good condition and regularly jumps obstacles at heights of 40–60 cm.
We believe that with moderate workload and suitable management, he still has plenty to offer even at hobby show jumping competitions.
### 🌿 Hacks, handling and daily routine
Sir Eckley is calm and reliable outside the riding arena as well.
On hacks in nature, he is trouble-free, whether going alone or in the company of other horses.
- Loads into the transport trailer without problems.
- He is calm during routine handling and when led by small children.
- He is trouble-free during veterinary treatments and with the farrier.
- He is used to spending about half the day in a paddock in a herd.
- At night, he is stabled in a box.
- During the winter season, he is rugged.
- He is shod on his front hooves.
### 🩺 Health status and care
Sir Eckley is currently in very good condition, without known health problems and without movement limitations.
He has regular hoof and dental care provided. He has also undergone physiotherapy treatments, approximately once every year and a half.
A blood test showing a reduced selenium level means it is necessary to regularly supplement selenium in his feed ration according to veterinary recommendation.
### 🏡 What kind of home are we looking for him?
For us, Sir Eckley is not just a horse. He is a long-standing family partner who brought our daughter many wonderful experiences, taught her a lot about riding and helped her achieve her first sports victories.
Now we would like to give him the opportunity to pass on all these experiences to another child.
Above all, we are looking for a responsible and loving family for him who will appreciate his exceptional temperament, experience and respect his age and needs.
He is an ideal candidate for a family looking not only for a pony for riding, but also a reliable teacher, a sports partner at an appropriate hobby level and a loyal friend.
